I strongly believe now in notions loosely put together by movies like Total Recall, Mission to Mars and Doom about life on Mars having ancestral roots to Earth. Nothing will happen as long as we observe it through telescopes or probes but only when life from earth reaches Mars would something happen like the planet growing life seeds in the core and on the surface to make it habitable to us humans.
